Connect Court Delays.

Due to Michigan's new Clean Slate Law that went into effect on 04/11/2023, several courts across the state have removed public access to their criminal indexes or significantly reduced the available years to search. Please expect extensive delays while we work with the courts to gain access back to complete case histories and understand their timeline for updates to their criminal indexes. This is a very fluid situation, and we will continue to provide additional updates as they are made available.

06/06/2023: Our teams continue working diligently to confirm information from all MI counties and courts. Updates made within the last 72 hours will be highlighted. Please let us know if you want to proceed with an extended scope search in counties that are currently limited to 7 years or less.

3/25/25 - Please expect delays on all orders as Cobb’s primary index is currently down for maintenance. No ETA for restoration has been provided at this time.

12/19/24 - Cobb is continuing to experience intermittent outages and loading issue with their system. This is leading to continued research delays on many Cobb orders. 

08/27/2024, while Cobb County has declared a judicial emergency due to a software issue, research capabilities remain unaffected at this time. However, please anticipate potential delays.

08/01/2024, Superior and State Courts access has been restored. However, Superior Court access is slow. Please anticipate continued delays.

The Superior and State Courts are experiencing an internet outage, resulting in the public access terminal being down. There is currently no estimated time or timeline for when access will be restored. Please anticipate delays.

Please note at this time that all orders in Ottawa, MI are currently requiring clerk assistance due to limited information available on the primary index. Clerks are only allowing 5 names per day to be submitted for review. Due to this limitation, please expect an extended turnaround time of up to 4 weeks for any Ottawa, MI search requests.

09/26/2024, All three jurisdictions have migrated their District court systems to MiCourts, which now has an active 7-year scope limitation filter. 
 What this means for you:
•    Orders requesting a search scope of 10 years or more will be placed on hold unless your organization has previously approved scope limitations for Michigan due to the Clean Slate Law.
•    If your organization has already approved the scope limitation: For any orders with scopes beyond 7 years, we will process and return results as an “F/M 7” search.
•    If you do not want your orders processed: Please let your Account Manager or support@informdata.com know as soon as possible.
•    If you would like the full requested scope completed, clerk assistance is required. This typically takes 1-2 weeks and incurs a cost of $2 per page for Record of Actions (ROA) on cases older than 7 years. The final cost will be confirmed after the search is complete, as the number of cases cannot be predicted beforehand. To proceed, contact your Account Manager or support@informdata.com 
 The 7-year limitation is expected to remain in place until the Circuit Court is also migrated to MiCourts. Unfortunately, the clerks haven't provided a specific timeframe for this. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

Public access to the terminals for the District and Circuit Courts in Antrim, Grand Traverse, and Leelanau counties is currently unavailable. The court has not provided an estimated time for restoration. Consequently, we are unable to process searches at this time, and delays should be expected.

Please expect delays on Clayton, GA orders due to limited PAT availability at the Superior court and required clerk assistance for additional case information. Our researchers are working diligently with court clerks to complete orders and minimize turn around time to the extent possible. 

2/06/25 - The primary index continues to experience outages delaying the completion or orders. The court clerks confirmed awareness of the persistent outage and are working to restore access. Please expect delays while we continue to process searches conventionally.

1/10/25 -The primary index for the district court remains down since 12/18/24. The court clerks confirmed awareness of the persistent outage and are working to restore access. Please expect delays while we continue to process searches conventionally.

1/28/25 - Riverside Superior Court case management system is currently experiencing technical difficulties, resulting in frequent crashes during use by both the public computers and court clerks at the courthouse. Please expect delays on all Riverside orders while the system issues persist.

The online index is currently providing back error messages which has caused a pause to our automation capabilities. Orders will be completed through conventional researchers while the online index continues to send back errors. Please expect delays while the issues persist.

4/8/25 - The Cleveland Municipal court PAT and online index have been restored, however our team is working through pending orders that were on hold due to the outage and cyber security incident. This delay will remain posted until orders have been caught up in Cuyahoga county. 

3/6/25 - The Cleveland Municipal court remains closed with their online index inaccessible and no ETA on when services will be restored. If you would like InformData to complete your Cuyahoga, OH orders without a search of the Cleveland Municipal court, please email us at support@informdata.com. 

The Cleveland Municipal court has experienced a cyber security incident. The court is currently closed and access to their online index has been removed. The court has stated that there is an ongoing investigation of the incident but has not provided a timeline for restoration. Cuyahoga orders will be on hold until access to the online index and court has been restored.

Public Access Terminals in the circuit courts are currently inaccessible due to updates being made to identifying information within case documents. At this time, all potential hits will require clerk assistance to complete. Please expect delays on WV orders while clerk assistance is being required.

Please expect delays on all criminal orders due to clerk training taking place at the Justice court. Our researchers are working with the court to minimize delays as much as possible.

Houston is moving from iDocket online index to a new system that is only accessible onsite at the court. Please expect delays on Houston, TX orders as we adjust our research and fulfillment processes accordingly.

4/8/25 - Clerk staffing challenges have been extended to 4/14/25. Please continue to expect delays in Carson City. 

Please expect minor delays on orders as court clerks will be short staffed in the Carson City Justice Court until 4/3/25.

Upton, Goliad, and Schleicher counties have moved from iDocket to re:SearchTX online index. The re:SearchTX website has been experiencing frequent errors and crashes which has delayed testing of the site. Please expect delays in these counties while we work to complete testing of the new website.

Please expect delays due to clerk staffing challenges. Our team is working with the court to minimize delays as much as possible. Currently, there is no ETA on when the court will increase clerk staff.
